Canada-wide Virtual Fair

2004 Canada Wide Virtual Science Fair    

Registration Deadlines
 
Register between October 15, 2003 - March 31, 2004
Projects Due: May 9, 2004
 
Eligibility
• Canadian students enrolled in Grades K - 12 may participate.
All students participating must be approved by a teacher.
• The supervising teacher must have a valid teaching certificate.

Home schooled children may be registered by the local director of education.
• Ontario OAC students may register as Grade 12 students.

Registration Categories   

There are 4 grade level categories: K - 3, 4 - 6, 7 - 9, 10 - 12.
• K -3 students enter as a class, 4 - 12 students enter as individuals or pairs.
• Each project is entered in 1 of 4 subject areas.
• The subject areas are Earth Sciences, Physics/Astronomy, Biology, and Chemistry.

      

Registration Procedures 
• The are absolutely no fees for students, teachers, or school boards.
All registration is done online.
• The teacher registers first and receives a Teacher Registration Number.
• The student registration form requires the Teacher Registration Number.
• The teacher will be emailed list of registered students and their VSF web server userids
 
 
Prizes and Sponsors
The cash prize total exceeds $30,000.
• Cash prizes are awarded for winners is each categories of projects.
• There are special prizes awarded for specific criteria.
• Merchandize prises are also available for worthly projects.
• 100% of sponsor donations are awarded as prizes to students.
 
 
Project Guidelines
Projects used in local, regional, and national science fairs may be used for the VSF as well.
• Teachers and students should be review the rules page regularily for updates.
• All projects will be hosted on the VSF web server.
• Always keep current backup copies of the project files in case of server failure
